Yes ladies and gents!

The time has come again to wrap up our favorite albums of the past year, and what a year it has been. From the continued ascension of the Drill scene to the dulcet tones of PAWG&B, from Afrobeats' international takeover finally cemented to the resurgence of traditional boom-bap hip hop, 2021 has been a year to relish for music aficionados, if you knew where to look.
Before we continue, however, it would be remiss of us not to acknowledge the people we lost this year who have paved the way for our culture to flourish. Raise ya glasses and pour one out for DMX, Black Rob, Biz Markie, Virgil Abloh, Bunny Wailer, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Shock G, Ricky Powell, Young Dolph, Prince Markie Dee, Chucky Thompson, Dennis Thomas, Double K, Gift Of Gab, Gonzoe & Chi Modu. We thank them for their contributions to our culture, and may their souls rest in eternal peace.

With that said, let's continue on with our traditional chronicle of the music that kept us entertained over the past 12 months.
Rules for the voting process are as follows:
- Albums released from December 15, 2020 to December 12, 2021 are eligible for nomination
- Up to 15 nominations per person will be permitted. You don't have to fill this allocation, however.
- All genres are permitted
- Your nominations will be acknowledged by a "dap" from me
- Please condense all nominations into one post. If you have made multiple posts declaring your nominations, or have changed votes, please let me know by "tagging" me
- The albums with the most nominations will be entered into the finals (which will be another thread, so keep an eye out for that!)
- Nominations will close on December 22, 2021
Happy voting!
