TCM Part II was fun for a sequel and served as a good palette cleanser after watching Audition. I think they made the right choice shifting the tone and doing its own thing in this one, as weird as it was at times. The gore in the opening scene is the outrageous 80s horror that I love. Gramps still fukking up with the hammer.

Same. I fell asleep several times. They tried to do a rear window type deal via Siri/Alexa and failed. Added to the fact we’re supposed to believe a 90lb girl could overtake 3 trained hired killers. Movie was choppy as hell - I’m tired of these pandemic themed one dimensional movies. Hbo max with yet another flop. An hour and 10 minutes watching Zoe Kravitz be zoey kravitz with the last 15 minutes being watchable with a much awaited action scene that didn’t deliver.

didnt they pivot the tone because of the success of Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy become a comedian lol
I just think it was Tobe knowing he wouldn’t top the original doing the same thing again so he went in a whole different direction instead.
ANOES was pretty menacing in its first two entries, and Freddy didn’t become the true jokester until Dream Warriors. TCM Part II dropped before that.
