of course there’s the Official miami heat thread, but that’s about the heat in general. I wanted a thread specifically about Wade sort of like how Kobe has his own thread separate from the Lakers thread for his going away season :mjcry:ain’t nobody even talking about it besides a few Miami heat blogs

Can’t believe this is his last season

    06 Finals was impressive

Heat had no business winning that series...NONE

You want to talk about a nikka who loved the big moments?

2006 finals was his MJ moment. I used to watch Bulls games with a calmness knowing if the game was close Jordan would do something to pull it out. score, get to the line, make an assist. something. I hadn't felt that way about another player until Wade in that 2006 finals.

people need to really go back and watch those games in their entirety. especially those last 4. he was amazing.

Retirement tours aren't really a thing. Wade doesn't have that kind of fanbase and he's not going to be selfish enough to make it worth following him like that this year.

That '06 Finals was most probably the defining series of his career, but it wasn't the series where he most resembled MJ. He hadn't fine-tuned his game in at that point (as you know it was only his third season); simply relying on his natural ability and whether you like to admit it or not, benefitted from the officiating in that series.

Just to put it into perspective:

He averaged 34 ppg (47.8 eFG%) in the '06 Finals with 16 FTA per game
He averaged 33 ppg (63.2 eFG%) in the '10 Celtics series with only 8 FTA per game

He was practically scoring the same amount of points, on far, far greater efficency with half the free-throw attempts, against one of the best defenses of the modern era. Just a pity he was surrounded by trash, else if he had an even half-decent support cast, Miami would've made it to the Finals that season.

in terms of moments its 2006. not necessarily his refined game. in regards to the officiating, yes he got calls, he also was more aggressive driving the ball than just about anyone Ive ever seen in the finals. he was relentless and they had no one that could check him. AND those Mavs also were the same team that gave up 60 to Kobe in THREE QUARTERS. he Kobe shot like 20 free throws in that game. again in THREE Quarters.

2008-2010 I used to dream of the Heat just having a big man that could CATCH(joel anthony ) and finish.

As I said, yes, that is the defining series of his career, but it's not the one where I stopped and ruminated about is this nikka really MJ?
