Yeah but atleast with the EPL there are usually multiple teams battling it out for the tittle.And then you have teams battling for the FA Cup & champions league places also.so there's intrigue there.

In the NBA it's just the championship or nothing....and it's been decided in the summer.

There's cups of all different kinds every year, 2 years, 4 years, plus Olympic soccer too. Just focus on that and watch EPL league games as a casual fan. I love soccer but it can be grueling like baseball at times, the seasons are long, there are draws and no playoffs. Not to mention all the top leagues are made of super teams and then the Sac Kings type teams.

The UEFA Championship, World Cup, UEFA Euro, Copa America and the Africa Cup of Nations are all great and worth watching if you ain't trying to see a whole season of the top 5 teams dominating everyone else most of the time in league play.
