The reason why Man City were able to get the 2 year UCL ban overturned by CAS was because they proved all the irregularities occurred outside the 5 year time bar. Basically, they claimed Statute of Limitations under UEFA's rules.

No such rule exists with the Premier League. They'll have to use other measures, like bribes.
