I think it was bad of Perez to fire Ancelotti. By no means, Real Madrid didn't have a bad season. Yes they are going to go trophy-less but they were in the thick of things for much of the season. Some timely injuries cost this team in both the La Liga and Champions League race. I think if anything, they just needed to tweak their formation a bit and just to have people healthy throughout the season. This firing could be a setback for the Real Madrid club.

Barca keeps winning with new managers. They didnt have a "big name" manager since van gaal. Carlo is a better manager than benitez, but who knows maybe rafa will do a better job. Barca also has a set philosophy these days. The blueprint was laid down by Guardiola's 2011 team and the spine of the team has remained stable, it's like those Chelsea teams after Mourinho left that they only started disbanding after 2012. Xavi is the only big issue new managers had to deal with. The question for them was really how to add directness to their game, Tata tried it and ran into resistance but Enrique managed to succeed adding the counter to their game. Real does not have some philosophy tying things together ,every new coach implements some changes based on players the team throws at him. Under Mourinho they counter attacked without really controlling the game against big teams and Carlo added some possession football without sacrificing the directness.
