See this the thing and I’ve said it before in this thread and I tell my boy who supports City this all the time, I think FFP is bullshyt and as long as the owner is taking the hit and debt isn’t being saddled on the club then I don’t really have a problem with a club spending whatever. But them the rules you sign up to and City were just too blatant with it so they have be punished

FOH these nikkas committed fraud. They're not getting punished for pumping money into the club, they're getting punished for lying about it. And then when the investigation began, they threatened to tie UEFA in legal morass for a decade.
FFP was put in place so that clubs would stop spending themselves into insolvency. It's flawed no doubt, but everyone including City agreed to it. If they would've moved smart and not overdid it like spend 60 million pounds on Mahrez to sit on the bench they wouldn't be in this position.

Obviously nobody wants to see clubs do a Leeds but at the same time I don’t think it should be a closed table so if a billionaire wants to pump his own money into a club that’s his prerogative. I’d be all for lobbying to change the rules somewhat but like you said that’s not what they’ve done, they signed up to it just like everyone else and have took the piss, EVERYONE knew those sponsorships were complete fugazi
And I’d have sympathy for their fans at least but unlike Chelsea who at least had the humility to admit their success was down to hitting the lotto and just enjoy it for what it is, City fans still arguing it’s completely legit and it’s a conspiracy to shut them out (bare in mind Milan a massive club unlike City got banned while City got a slap on the wrist the last time), owners screaming racism
