These Ex Arsenal player pundits
I really want this to be the guy to bring us back to the main table but I'm gonna manage my expectations by keeping hopes low.
What I liked:
Some good lines, particularly in relation to his thoughts on yesterday's game. He knows there are big issues to adress which is good.
Highlighted our piss poor defensive record which nobody from Ole to fukking Harry Maguire has ever done
Seems to have a clear idea of how he wants us to play and emphasized the need to control games.
What I didn't like:
He basically confirmed that nobody has any idea exactly what his "consultancy" role will entail and doesn't seem too committed to the idea himself.
He tried to convince Carrick to stay (hopefully not as his assistant) and will need to assemble a new coaching team as his first choice guys are all with other clubs.

Aubmayang is still living off that post lockdown 2020 form that included an FA cup win.

Football fans in the twitter eraA ruthless club doesn’t sign Auba to a new contract.A ruthless club thinking about future success would have sold him & Laca after that FA Cup win and brought in a younger striker. I got called negative by my Arsenal mates because I was saying we should have sold him that summer and now, they're saying I was right![]()

It didYou don't want to sound ungrateful but winning the FA Cup set the club back by 12-18 months.

Silly point. OLE had way better players than Arteta at his disposal.

Partey was actually one of the worst players on the pitch. I might be on my own with this but for the past few weeks, Lokonga has played better than him and I think we would have played better with Lokonga/Elneny. I’m seeing people scapegoat Tavares today but he actually had a good game whilst Partey lost CR7 for the second goal by not tracking his run.
Auba has been playing against us for over a season now and I know he’s a fan favourite but he has to be dropped. He offers very little in terms of link up play and he’s missing sitters. Arsenal are in a messy situation with our strikers because two of them are due to leave at the end of the season, one has no form and the other can’t get a chance because “he’s not ready yet.” I think Arteta needs to bring in an attacking coach because we’re in his third season now and the team still doesn’t have consistent patterns of play in the final third.
Odegaard had a Xhaka moment with that penalty but quietly, he was in the middle of all our good looking attacking spells. We looked out of ideas once Arteta took him off.
