Ehhh that's a stretch. They were 4th most of the 2nd half of the qualifier but even though they couldn't beat anyone worth a damn, they were never really in danger of falling off the 5th place playoff as neither Colombia nor Uruguay could get any Ws to get close and really surpass Brazil from 4th. They were able to coast after having a good 1st half and no other team putting any real pressure on them.

This time around ain't gonna be any different either, having 7 spots out of 10 teams will make it impossible for any team half decent to miss the WC. Only worthless squads like us, Perú and Bolivia gonna have to watch it on TV
