This year Jay-Z leads all nominees with 9 nominations, Kendrick Lamar and the two Cacs have 7 each. Kendrick's and Macklemor's nominations include the "prestigious" Album Of The Year nomination. If Kendrick wins he will join one of only two other Hip Hop artists to take home the AOTY (Lauryn Hill and Outkast being the other two respectively)

Slant Magazine thinks K.Dot will get snubbed for Best New Artist

"Let's get this out of the way: The artist least likely to win, Kendrick Lamar, is the one who most deserves to. Simply put, K-Dot is better at what he does than any of his fellow nominees are at what they do, and it's hard to believe that anyone could listen to an era-defining masterpiece like Good Kid, M.A.A.D City and disagree. But the Grammys have a nearly unbroken streak of not awarding the Big Four categories to black, male hip-hop artists (OutKast's 2004 Album of the Year win being the sole exception), and it's unlikely that an understated concept album about growing up in Compton's underclass will be responsible for changing that."

The News Herald has K.Dot pegged for Best Rap Album

TALBOTT: On the surface this is a cutthroat category, but it’s really a two-rapper race. Drake, winner of last year’s Grammy in this category, Jay Z and West have all been saluted before. And Macklemore and Lewis will figure in the overall categories, leaving the bedrock hip-hop voters free to go with their hearts. Lamar spent a good portion of the year proclaiming himself the greatest, and we agree.

FEKADU: Kendrick’s verse on “Control” foreshadowed his win here. Maybe next year, Kanye?

J Cole needs to win for Power Trip .

Best rap song category is a giveaway to Wacklemore :pacspit:

Kendrick gets best album

:dwillhuh:Can some one explain the difference between best rap song and best rap performance?
Best rap performance is usually about the actual rapping on the song than the actual song is the best I can describe it. Like it's closer to an emcee's award. As far as Hip Hop needing Kendrick to win AOTY, no it doesn't. Then again, I think a lot of you take this more seriously than I do (and more so than most people I know do). It'll be a twitter moment and a feather in someone's cap but that's about it. It's not going to change the landscape of music or how a genre is perceived. As for RAOTY, he should win because he has the best album in the category. It's really that simple. He has commercial and critical success (regardless of how I previously have stated I feel about the extent of that critical praise) and that has always been the formula for winning unless Eminem is nominated.

Therefore, I can't see how Kendrick doesn't win, just like how tremont and I told you all last year Drake would beat Nas no matter how much you wouldn't listen. Another thing to look for is that performers at the Grammys often win. I have no idea who is performing, but that should give you a hint. As for album of the year, I think Daft Punk will win.

Best Rap song is the writer's award and Best Rap Performance is for the song overall. I had a MAJOR issue last year with nikkaz In Paris winning both awards as I felt that Nas's Daughters was overall a better written record with a more poignant and original theme. NIP deserved the Rap Performance award but not Best Rap Song

TV guide has the Cacs pegged for AOTY

Album of the Year
Will win:
The Heist, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Grammys are typically hesitant to give Album of the Year to a rap album (only Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below have won), which makes Kendrick Lamar's deserved win unlikely. But The Heist has enough cross-genre appeal and cultural cache to make it.
Watch out for: The Blessed Unrest, Sara Bareilles
Many were surprised when Bareilles was even nominated, but the singer's underrated record could result in a major upset. Plus: She could also pull votes away from Taylor Swift's Red, who would be only the fourth female artist to win the award twice following Hill, Norah Jones and Alison Krauss.
