I always viewed DC and Maryland as the most southern Northern states but i guess they got they own thing going on

well they say once u past Virginia it's the south so it pretty much the east coast

They not us, DMV(DC; Baltimore, Virginia) is Mid-Atlantic, a whole region of to themselves, not North-East.
That's not like saying Tampa is apart of South Florida.

The Northeast is really New England, Mid-Atlantic, and DMV

Mid-Atlantic is NY, NJ, PA, and i guess DE

DMV is a new term, in school they taught us that Mid Atlantic included Maryland AS WELL
