So after looking at the 2016 Presidential Election, I did the math. If you remove California from the total votes, then Trump wins.

According to vote tallies from The Associated Press, Clinton amassed 65,844,610 votes across all 50 states and Washington D.C., 48.2 percent of all votes cast. Trump received 62,979,636 votes, 46.1 percent of all votes cast.


Total - California = Rest of country.
Hillary: 65,844,610 - 8,753,788 = 57,090,822
Trump: 62,979,636 - 4,483,810 = 58,495,826

She should have really went back to those Great Lakes states.
