i don't know much about it but to me, it always seemed more like a bunch of socially awkward super-betas trying to learn how to pull one over on girls that are out of their league.

It is an art, I agree. It's not really a science though. Different chicks respond to different cues, and mood and setting play into it as well...a lot of variables at play and no one winning formula. Physical attractiveness is always going to be the most important thing to anyone, so if a chick doesn't find you attractive she's probably not going to fukk with you regardless of how many hot bars you spit unless she's ugly or very drunk. These PUAs probably got wack swagless ugly dudes thinking they can pull beautiful women with this stuff. I don't know. Never got into it. Just look good, smell good, dress good, and present yourself with confidence and a bit of sophistication when you holler.

Isn't that what science is all about? Accounting for the variables? The same formula will rarely work on two different girls, although there's some girls that just about anything will work with. Being an official member of the attractive peoples club (I've had multiple modeling gigs and offers) I wouldn't say looks are everything, especially so for females. I think what they hear matters more than what they hear. Of course, they have already judged you within seconds of meeting you
