Not sure if there are many Shaw Brothers fans on here, but i'm a huge fan.

This thread is dedicated to mainly Shaw Brothers films, but also old school kung fu films in general. I'll up some films and if there's interest i'll continue to share.

Most films are in original language with English subtitles

I'll start with a classic...

5 Element Ninja aka Chinese Super Ninjas

Description

When a quintet of nasty ninjas hell-bent on world domination nearly massacres an entire clan, its lone survivor must take the path of revenge. He meets up with an old master well versed in the ways of the ninja. Now armed with secret knowledge and newfound friends, he must battle the awesome power of the Five Element Ninjas, who harness the powers of gold, wood, fire, water, and earth.

But besides that, I got Shaolin Mantis in the player. Gonna finish it up after I'm done here.

Besides To Kill A Mastermind, I got all the SB flicks I want; think I just finished up a few days ago. There is a site that I found a few years ago that fed me with about 150 flicks I was looking for. They were all subs, but fukk it.

That site was heaven sent.

BTW, I WISH those Cinema Hong Kong documentaries were on the net. It seems those are the only SB docs out. I wish someone would do a proper one.

I've only seen the Flying Guillotine movies from them. They got any other shyt that's hot? When it comes to wire fu I prefer the faster kinds like Iron Monkey.

Big film, David Chiang is the sh*t, one of my favourite shaw actors actually. Him and Ti Lung make a deadly duo.

Re the martial arts thread, that seemed to have more modern flicks, i wanted to concentrate on Shaw mainly. But i will happily post films in there if that's preferred or a lack of interest and let this thread go to the bushes

Honestly, there are so many films that i would consider top tier films to come out of them studios. Batz made a real good list, I'd add a few

Challenge of the ninja - Gordon Liu & Yasuaki Kurata (fist of legend) are in this, the film is epic. The last fight scene between the two mentioned is one of the best fight scenes from SB imo.

Description

Lau Kar-leung directs this martial arts yarn about competing kung fu schools locked in a bitter rivalry. Meanwhile, the master of one school Huang Chi-ying (Ku Feng) is having a hard time controlling his son Wong Fei-hung (Gordon Lau Kar-fai) and his son's friend Yin-lin (Mai Te-lo) who get their kicks by posing a kung fu masters. Even after getting drubbed in a match with a real kung fu ace, the two continue to play the part, going so far as to hire opponents to take a dive. Soon Master Shan (Johnny Wang Lung-wei) of the rival Jing Wu school gets wind of Fei-hung's bragging and subsequently breaks Yin-lin's leg. Soon Fei-hung realizes that he must get serious and fight Shan in order to save his repudiation and that of his father's school.

Crippled Avengers

Description

Boxer from Shangtung is one of my favourite shaw movies period. I got that, i can up it for you. Its over 3 gig though so it will have to come in 3 parts.

I'll check for King Eagle.
