Drop piff, or talk about your own ventures. I've done a couple of open mics and am trying to get more into it.

Also, share shyt on Spotify. That thing is gold for comedy albums.

...well, THIS thread was a flop.

And that's a damn shame too.

I'll give it one courtesy bump before I let it die for good.

originally from the 'ville
I am trying to get more into stand up comedy (not performing, but watching). I've seen/heard performances from more famous people like Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, etc. But I trying to find more.

So far I've enjoyed Kevin Hart, Marc Maron, Hannibal Burress, and patton oswalt was ok. I am about to check out John Mulany

Any reccomendations on who to check out next?

Uptown Comedy Club does amateur night. I don't know if you are comfortable with black audiences but if you are, I think it's on Thursdays. My cousin did it before and was god awful lol.

being black and starting out around black comics, i'm hella comfortable. they can be rough but i've been to some hole in the wall joints out here in vegas. amateur night or open mic is what i'm aiming for tho. i'm just trying to build up my name.

I do stand up, tonight I went to my usual tuesday night open mic with almost no prepared material, i just did improv and crowd work and i did the best ive ever doing doing those things. I dedicated my set to trayvon martin and when i said that the crowd groaned like there were expecting some offensive joke and then i berated them for not respecting the death of trayvon. eventually i asked a woman what her job was and it turned out she was a phone sex operator(doing crowd work this was like striking gold:ahh:) i got some good laughs doing a pretend phone sex call with her and got off stage feeling :blessed: :ahh:

i feel great right now :ahh:
