Also SF5's awful launch takes away from how well they've managed to course correct the game throughout it's life.

People we're shocked at the recent Capcom earnings report confirming that SF5 has sold 7 million copies. It's currently the best selling street fighter game ever.

If they started they way they ended they could've easily sold 10mil+

Let's not pretend that it being free to play for a period didn't help 'sales' figures massively

I know about the FEW times 5 has been f2p and it's hardly enough to make a dent the way you're implying

SF5 is popular because its been 1 game the entire 7 years and is added up that way and because it has gotten continue support every single year besides like one and a half of those years when the game started to fall off.


Thankfully the SF6 dudes came along for the last season and hit the game with the juice it needed to at least be a solid game as a complete package.

I don't like SF5 but they did what they could and it's better than it's ever been.
