she doesnt address the real problems in DC.
Could you elaborate?
Its all about building luxury apartments everywhere, ticket money generation,
Gentrification has been going on in DC for the last 25-30yrs, Way before she took office. And she has been apart of any pushback that has risen from what I"ve seen. I'm not saying she's a revolutionary. I'm saying she doesn't have the power to stop it. Not by herself at least
and the Commanders/Wizards. Crime out of control.
I find that statement to be popular amongst the people pushing for gentrification. I be at all these places, ain't no different than anywhere else.
The whole crime at wizards games. How sway? From all the police, cameras/etc. Sounds good on the news, but its bullshyt.
It was all a ploy to get the wizards to move to VA, they had the spot secured in Pentagon city area... But the people pushed back.
Then was like "What if those nikkaZ come to VA, oh nooooooo"

The real issue was the traffic that is already fukked up, would get worse in that area which is a bottleneck. So it was never a good idea for that reason and that reason alone. But to help facilitate the move? WE GOTTA DO THIS BECAUSE OF CRIME!!!
Nobody was worried about crime a couple years ago when the caps won the title and they had an all day parade right there on F street.
They have events OUTSIDE all the time right here without incidents. You gotta pay more attention than to just surface level on these things.
If you can tell me something tangible about how the mayor is misusing her power/etc. I'm all ears :handshake:

Right, I lived in South East at the big 30

Any place from the outside can look bad, but this is a real ass statement.
I grew up in VA mostly. Alex, Fairfax County. I hustled a lil bit over the years, made moves in the DMV
I went to the red door in my teens, was usually the one who got out (if you know you know)
Galveston then Livingston... 203, 2nd & P, Seaton Pl, 16th & Levi just to name a few. I say all that to say this which I feel is profound.

When I moved to 3030 30th Street S.E. (apt 207 to be exact) I felt SAFER than I did during any point in my adult life.
Why you ask? Because I grew up in VA where once I became a young teen? And I moved from my mostly white neighborhood to a black/Latino one?
The police have been up my ass (pause) ever since. To the point it created a PTSD that I didn't know existed until I moved to DC
Walking out the front door of the building I have no fear or worry that the police will harass me. Again, I didn't realize I was suffering from this form of PTSD. But that weight gone made me feel.... free honestly. The local hoods? They just kids or young adults hanging outside.
Maybe they slang some weed or some crack to the heads. The gunfire isn't for everybody. Its other crews from other areas that got beef with usually one individual who was doing too much. And a drive-by can happen. A drive-by can happen anywhere tho.
I lived there for 4yrs and I never seen anything. My street was on the local news a few times for incidents. But my point is Crime was not an issue for the average person.

I'm back in VA again, and when was the last time I had the police run up on me in a funny styles type of way? Literally yesterday
I'm just chilling by a "cut" I know about. Feds roll up on E-Bikes and try to make small talk. I keep it brief and they move on. But them going to the cut just to survey is not what goes down in DC or any white neighborhood in VA
Its like I had white people freedom when I was in DC.

So that's my experience. You worried about DC crime, I'm way more worried about VA crime of being black.
I've been convicted of two crimes I had NOTHING TO DO WITH in VA. Just putting that stat out there. How many times you was a victim of a crime in DC? I bet you was in VA at one time or another :francis:
