People complain about 50 Cent talking about mollies on "hate being sober" cause he doesn't do drugs. This dude is held to a standard that no other rapper is held to, mainly because of him and his values i.e. authenticity is his calling card.

But when the talk about his "hate being sober" lyric. "She's a hot tamale, when she pops the molly". they act as if he's brand new.

The first song I ever heard mention mollies is from 50 cent song stretch, off of his Before I self destruct CD, that's what 3 years before Chief Keef and Trinidad James.

Better question is . . when did the industry start pushing it on the mainstream

. . Probably not long after the resurface of underground EDM in modern culture . . Probably not long after some big wigs at Interscope/Universal invested in some heavy Molly weight to flood our country with.

Great feeling, but are we a generation of guinea pigs? Do we know how this will affect our health later in life?

With that said . . the Thizz movement certainly encompasses Molly and would of co-signed it's relevance. I'm pretty sure Madonna stole her MDNA album name from Mac Dre
