I'm hoping dads start chapters in other schools dealing with violence or at least unify existing groups under this banner. This is so beautiful

What brings me to tears is those men having to take time off work because the people in the school that are paid to deal with the students obviously can’t handle the job. That’s not an inspirational story, that shyt it sad as hell.
They are parents and community members doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Parents acting like it's the school's job to "control" your children is what led to the problem in the first place. Teachers are not correctional officers or mental health crisis counselors....

It's a community's job to raise children. Always has been, always will be. Never forget that.

all this shows is how low the standards in the Black community have become. when I was coming up if your parents had to take time off work to come up to the school cause you were acting up you might get embarrassed in class in front of your friends.

this isn't the "community" we're talking about. those kids aren't out in the neighborhood. there are teachers, administrators, coaches, counselors, security - people who are paid to make sure the school is functioning the right way. those men shouldn't have to leave their jobs because all those i've listed AND their parents haven't done their jobs.

really all this is is some last resort shyt. something you have to go to before the city police are called in, and like i said, the fact we think this is something to applaud shows how low we've fallen in some areas.

i'm speaking from experience man. i used to have my folks taking off work coming up to the school cause i was acting a fool. i remember one time we got into it with a group we'd been going at it with and they finally told us on a friday that if we didn't have our folks come back up there with us that coming monday not to come back at all. now that i'm older i see what a fool i was and how i wasted my folks time with my bs. i commend those men, but we gotta do better.
