Many women have the challenge of trying to lose weight and failing over and over or working very hard to lose weight only to gain it all back and sometimes even be heavier than before the original weight loss. Going on fad diets and trying to lose too much weight too quickly is often what leads to failure.

There are however women who choose to embrace their fuller figures and they feel beautiful and $exy in their fuller bodies. The truth is being fuller can be very attractive, especially if you understand that beauty is not defined by looking like a toothpick.

The problems arise when women go beyond being fuller figured and gain so much weight that they are obese and even corpulent. Many women will call themselves “thick” when they are actually dangerously overweight. Here are the problems with calling yourself “thick” when you have gone beyond fuller figured:

1. You have no incentive to change – The key to changing anything in your life lies with first acknowledging that you have to change. You can not change what you do not acknowledge. If you stay in denial about being overweight, you have no incentive to change.

2. You’re endangering your health – Being overweight puts you at a much higher risk for heart disease, type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure and other complications related to your health.

3. You open yourself up to discrimination – Let’s face it, people can be mean and cruel to people who are overweight. People pick at others for many different reasons and some of what we get teased about is beyond our control. Being overweight, however is something that may be difficult to tackle but it is possible to change.

4. You miss out on great things – Many fun extra curricular activities have a weight limit placed on them and people beyond a certain weight are not allowed to participate, usually for safety reasons. A lot of great fashion items stop at certain sizes and exclude overweight people.

Loving your round hips and full behind are great but don’t hide behind the label of “thick” when you know that you could eat better and be more active so that you have a healthy and fit body.

This is a big problem in the black community IMO, matter of fact an epidemic. Black men and women be calling this and that girl thick, but I'm like nah that bytch is straight up fat:what:. It's a difference between thick and fat. Just like there is a difference between a phat ass and fat ass. The phat one is thick, but it's nice and firm when you grab it, letting you know the girl works for her ass in the gym. The fat ass just feels like jello, which means she just eats a bunch of fried chicken and soul food to get her ass. Even then a lot of these hoes are one pregnancy away from being obese.
