true.
but for them
plus they think they are on the path to AGI . or at least that is what they tell investors.

well yea. but I just make it, what the client does with it afterthere is no "in"
i'm not gonna say it but .. you know
that's not really two (i.e. 2.0) apps

@null we both said the same thing.like I use Chat GPT plus and Claude Pro for about $40 a month and I am a AI power user and early adopter.
The whole thing to me is these guys want cheap coders and/or over value the demand for coders in society because in a lot of ways it’s tied to the demand for their own services. There aren’t enough users to demand creating AI at the scale where it justifies the demand. I don’t believe in AGI. They can’t even agree what it looks like. At most I think they might figure out an agent that can work offline and then go online and with other AI‘s connected to services.
For AGI to exist we would need advancements in energy and/or quantum computing (which also might not be possible).
well yea. but I just make it, what the client does with it after![]()
check the username.that's interesting nonetheless.
what are you using?
i use chatgpt and it is a net positive. most of the time.

I agree this is like when the Microsoft word, PP, and excel came through and typewriters and printers the sizes of cars had to fall back. I think Microsoft saw it like that too as did those early investors but Altman starting talking about AGI to get more speculative investors.i see these tools as productivity agents for people that know what they are doing.
even as that they will affect employment. and longer term maybe even skill retention.
i don't think we are anywhere close to AGI but you never know.
You’re not making money with them.
You’re hoping to get a small return at best. They made billions as soon as the company went public. What happens to your investment when there’s no jobs because of automation, you can’t even protest because palantir is monitoring literally everything ie social media, ring and traffic camera footage, and theres no government assistance because they purchased the politicians (like they did this election)? Communites will be policed by robots running on AI software with the racial prejudice coded into the software At Elon Musks/peter thiel‘s request. What little jobs are left are being competed for not just by Americans but immigrants all over the world. It’s a race to the bottom at that point.
We should be advocating for worker protections under AI, not investing into these companies. For example, we are not even at least benefiting from having the income in developing the technology that’s going to take our jobs. They have foreigners on work visas taking the jobs, that are creating technology that will automate the American jobs that they already took. In other words, Americans are replaced by foreigner H1B workers, who are then replaced by AI. That’s treason.
Edit: TLDR, what I’m saying is the collapse of the American economy and basic societal structures due to a technocratic autocracy will far outweigh and gain on investment into these companies.
I’ve already made a good amount on it though, real money. It’s only just getting started. I can leave my money in these stocks and it’ll scale incredibly well over time. People need to understand compound interest.
I guess this is the point where morals come in, but I’m simply not going to let opportunity pass me up. This is all still early.
Being pissed at A.I and making money off it is still better than being pissed at A.I and having made no money from it.
I don’t see the point of knowing A.I is coming and not getting anything out of it. I see the opportunity to retire off of it because how big and apart of society it’ll be so I’m investing and taking advantage of the compound interest to come from it.
You're not seeing the forest from the trees. If AI continues unabated to the point where those companies are able to exponentially increase their valuations and masses of people are left unemployed from being replace by AI, there will eventually be some type of major intervention either by the government or by the masses of people via revolution. Under that scenario the major AI companies will be taken over or nationalized, wiping out shareholders in the process or heavily taxed to finance UBI programs to support the tens of millions of people who's jobs are replaced by AI.
this is a tired and disprove Luddite argument. You're not seeing the forest from the trees. what actually happens is that the technology itself creates new markets that people never thought would exist before.
Stop fear mongering.
