I hate this "blame metacritic" bullshyt narrative y'all try to pull every time a game you anticipating scores low. You love metacritic when a game you like scores high, but hate it when a game you (want) to like scores low. Nah, it's not metacritic's fault. I see the agenda...:martin:

This happened with The Order too. Sorry your exclusive didn't score high enough. Maybe it's just not a good game :jbhmm:

You've never seen me "loving" metacritic.

And I've seen you disagreeing with metacritic plenty of times.

Yeah, I disagree sometimes, but I'm not making the bold statement that metacritic is the root of all problems this gen. That's crazy. Metacritic is a great tool. These metacritic doom threads always pop up when a new game scores low. It's like clockwork :smh:

Man I don't care what anyone says, 2015 was one of the best years of gaming in my lifetime. MGSV, Witcher 3, Bloodborne were all amazing gaming experiences even with their flaws. And we had countless good games to go with those. And a bunch of great XONE games I didn't even play but I can tell were great as well. I think 2016 will be great as well. 2014 was a weak first year, but we've been eating since.

I never said it was the root of any problem other than people's perception.

We reached the point of diminishing returns on graphics. They can't throw a fresh coat of paint on games we've already played and have that be enough to satisfy reviewers and gamers in general. That's why the scores are going down and people are complaining. If there had to be a sentence to sum up this generation it would be along the lines of: Stuff you've already played but it looks a little better. Games are getting better looking and shorter. 5-6 hour campaigns are the norm now.

Let's also be real here console exclusives have flat-lined. So far this generation excluding Nintendo games if you own a good gaming rig you're missed out on virtually nothing over console exclusive gamers. There's a long list of disappointing hyped up games too like Assassin's Creed Unity, Killzone, Batman Arkham Knight, Star Wars Battlefront, Destiny, Need For Speed, Tony Hawk 5, Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Evolve. Many people were letdown by these games and more. Some of the issues surfacing this generation are shorter campaigns or cutting them out all together, online modes with reduced content, online communities that evaporated quickly. Developers lying to gamers about how games look and run then putting them out in sorry condition either to later be patched or just remain mostly broken.

If you wanna get all Republicans vs the "liberal" media and harp on the critics because you don't agree with them that's fine but you pretending the issues don't exist when for a lot of people they do doesn't make them go away.

if you're bored of gaming and you're letting meta scores decide what games you play, you're doing it wrong. You've got to develop some fukking taste and learn that the way reviewers review games is dumb and outdated to begin with. They're too obsessed with how long a game is and how much "content" it has. Both of which are fukking irrelevant if the gameplay is boring.

My two favorite games of the past 4 months are Rainbow Six Siege and Street Fighter V. Both are great multiplayer games, and both have meta scores in the mid 70s. Why? Rainbow Six Siege doesn't have a story mode and Street Fighter V doesn't have an arcade mode. Base your score for a multiplayer game on a 2-5 hour story mode brehs.

If you like shooters or fightin games, and skipped those games because their metascores, well you fukked up, plain and simple.Instead you're playing boring ass Call of Duty or whatever open world rpg/shooter the critics overrated and complaining about how gaming sucks these days. :yeshrug:
