They have no choice.... If you want to get Insurance for your business and workers you MUST do drug tests.... You think insurers will underwrite multi million dollar Workman's comp and Umbrella policies for a company that could be burned to the ground by a mistake from a tweaker or someone losing an arm because he fell asleep while running a 10 ton press.
In many cases its the Insurers themselves who will run the tests and pay for them.
Business owners always have an excuse.
We have 20% of applicants failing drug tests so we have to hire immigrants!

I make Dedent money right now and I don't do much besides adjust my tie . I never took a drug test and I smoke everyday . I am eligible for all benefits.

There is definitely a huge issue with entitlement in the U.S.
Along with drug you, far too many people want to live in big cities and not spread out and populate other towns...lots of issues with the U.S. workforce.
They hire illegals because they can pay them significantly less, don't have to give them benefits and don't have to worry about things like withholding for taxes. All of the other 'reasons' are excuses to justify the fact that they get to stuff their pockets with more money due to labor cost savings.
not what this thread is about. these are legal workers. refugees are granted conditional legal status and can seek gainful employment. these companies have to offer them the same things they do for native born workers.
so true. if 20% are failing then that means 80% can pass the drug test. if it's other things say what those other things are and not just use the drug test crutch.
although, the company in erie did say only 20-25% of his workforce is refugees, so they're filling the gap at his company where he only fill 80% of his needs with the local workforce.
