Just about every article I read about the genocide in Sudan cites Arab supremacy and anti-Blackness as the main reason why the RSF and the Janjaweed before them have been slaughtering Black people for decades. But, the thing that confuses me is that Sudanese Arabs generally look Black. Every picture I see of RSF fighters show guys that would be called the N word if they were in rural Alabama. Not sandnikka but straight up N word with the hard R. It makes no sense you see a similar situation with Boko Haram or Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria killing people but they recognize themselves as Black people. Is it a Dominican "me no black papi" situation? Is it a mistranslation by Western media and they meant it to be tribalism/ethnic tension than racism?
The reason for the Sudanese genocide being anti-Black racism makes no sense to me. Sudanese Arabs look visibly Black.

Racial categories vary depending on the context. The way race is perceived in America is different in other parts of the world.
Have you heard about the controversy about the South African singer Tyla not considering herself black but colored? Or dark-skinned Dominicans not seeing themselves as black in the US? Or Africans sometimes seeing mixed and very light-skinned folks as white?
Same thing in Sudan. You can have darker skin and some stereotypical african features but still be racialized as arab rather than black in Sudan.

Its similar to the Jewish thing where their race is tied to lineage, not skin tone.
Race is a silly concept breh where your identity can be based in where you live, what you look like, who your oarents are, what job your ancestors did, what language you speak, or your skintone. people still hold on to the system because it's an excellent method for primitive resource accumulation and the perfect excuse to steal from others.
Let me stress the steal from thing, because often times they are killing people in order to take their land and resources. This happens literally everywhere you see racism playing out.
This whole thing in Sudan just makes me sad. I've been hearing about the atrocities there since I was in elementary school but it never seems to stop. I try to make sense of it like the Palestine genocide which seems clear cut for the reasons but Sudan just seems like wanton destruction for the sake of chaos and stealing resources. This world is just tragic.

1. The original Arabs were black so the premise doesn’t make much sense.
2. You’re applying western concepts of race to Africa. In western countries, you have race. In Africa you have ethnicity. The Sudan war is an ethnic war, not a race war.

A large portion of people from that section of Africa dont view themselves as blacks but Arabs. Based off what I've seen online alot of Somalians/Sudanese/Ethiopians and Eritreans looks at Arabs/North Africans as brothers before they would look at a Nigerian or Cameroonian as a brother
