Yeah
The verses in this book are extremely interesting.

Interesting to me that this was supposedly "banned" from the bible and how it seems to promote the idea that you yourself and god are equal (in my opinion).

One of the verses that stood out was:

[Gospel of Thomas Verse 11: The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive. When you are in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"/QUOTE]
:mindblown: :wtf:

Still can't figure this one out.

Anyone else read it?

With the exception of the Gospel of Thomas, most of those "lost" books were written after the 3rd century AD, well after the NT canon was pretty much established.

Even the GoT's dating is not clear.

The last line is about birth. You were one with your mother then we’re born and became a second life

I think the first line is saying what is life? I’m alive and I eat dead animals and plants that then become a part of me. How can what is dead become a part of what is alive?

It also works with your walk in faith.

Saying it was "banned" from the Bible distorts the case quite a bit.

After Christianity became a large movement, dozens and dozens of people began writing books that riffed on the Jesus theme. It's just like when a rapper becomes popular today, he picks up copycats immediately. There are at least 40-50 books that sold themselves as "gospels" of Jesus. But if you think that those books were all unfairly "banned" from the Bible, then I'm gonna have to ask you whether you believe, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer" was unfairly banned from history class.

The primary difference between "The Gospel of Thomas" and "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff" is nothing but age and audience. tGOT gets some credit because it's the oldest of the fake gospels. But it is clearly derivative off the established Gospels, it is clearly intended for a different (proto-gnostic) audience. It's silly to blame the early Christians for not including a book that someone else completely outside the movement wrote to promote their own, different cause.

Also, should point out that the Gospel of Thomas isn't even a gospel in the normally considered sense, which is a story of Jesus's life. Instead, it's just a list of sayings, some of which are derived from Jesus's sayings but twisted into other meanings, and some of which are made up from scratch.

gospel of thomas is 'gnosticism'... essentially the same stuff as new age. not Biblical. There is an excerpt from it that talks about making the male female and the female male until they are essentially one, which explains the androgynous/tranny agenda going on.
