- Rumors are circulating on comic book and movie websites that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in discussions with Warner Bros. to play DC Comic book character John Stewart, a member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League of America.
At this time there has been no confirmation from The Rock or Warner Bros. as to whether the Green Lantern rumor is correct. Something worth noting is that at different points over the recent years, Johnson was also attached to play the evil Black Adam in a Shazam! film as well as intergalactic anti-hero bounty hunter Lobo in different DC Comic film adaptions that landed in development hell.

The Rock has teased playing John Stewart, better known as one of the Green lantern Corps. In response to a follower on Twitter suggesting that the wrestler turned actor would suit the role of John Stewart or another DC character named GraveDigger, The Rock retweeted and added his simple response: “Funny U say that…”
Does this mean that we will see him wield the Green ring in potential sequel to the 2011 movie starring Ryan Reynolds as fellow Green Lantern, Hal Jordan?
The lesser known character called ‘GraveDigger’ has ties to an alternate universe Superman, and is also known to be a member the shady company known as Checkmate. So will we see him pop up in ‘Man of Steel’, or appear in another DC film in the near future?
A simple tease, or is there truth to his comment?
