Catholics are Christian, king. Catholicism is responsible for the spread of Christianity. Catholic missionaries converted most of the old world and almost all of the new world to Christianity. And I'm talking about over the course over 1200 years. It's one of the most successful religions in the world and by far the most successful Christian denomination.

Christian History tells you most of the problems started with the Roman Church getting off track. And a strong Roman Empire caused the church to overpower the other churches of the world over time. A lot of denominations split from the Roman Catholic Church for one reason or another but their beliefs and history are still affected by Rome, and we see that today because of the ecumenical movement.

i would argue that the orthodox church is more 'pure' - and as far as protestants even martin luther had a point, the church had become so corrupt, selling indulgences

this isnt necessarily true

there are different groups of orthodox (coptic, nestorian, church of the east, syriac, jerusalem) and they find ways to disagree with eachother and will be proud of it to you

mormonism actually has solutions to the orthodox issues that they arent willing to discuss, not that i subscribe to mormonism but if you read about it its very interesting

basically along the lines of trying to change the genesis narrative but in a way thats understandable to modern ears

Best thing you can do as a modern Christian, imo, is to just read your Bible… New Testament.

Don’t fall in love with any church or preacher… not even a random denomination.
