Last year, after releasing three quality albums in 17 months which all received well reviews from “How I Got Over” to “Undun” even their collaborative album “Wake Up!” with John Legend; everyone’s favorite live hip-hop band is back with plans to release their thirteenth studio album late next year. HipHollywood recently caught up with the band to speak on being recognized nationally as America’s new favorite band being on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as Quest went on to say “It’s really amazing, and we’re glad to finally receive recognition.”

Quest also briefly touched on plans to release a new album next year which is currently going through the creative process right now. Roots fans can rejoice as this brotherly love band tends to never disappoint.

you dont like the roots brother man?

I like Black Thoughts lyrics but i feel as of late that i cant feel the music that the band is creating. These hipster hooks of theirs trouble friends like me. These NBA Playoff commercial tracks they are creating like (The Fire) worry me. The fact on the last album they were trying to showoff that they can do more then just hiphop with those corny symphony tracks troubled friends. I think the band is losing touch and Black Thought is caught in the Twilight Zone.

How I Got Over is a classic album to me... I liked the songs Undun, the concept could've been more flushed out though; felt too vague.

Black Thought is one of the 10 best rappers to ever live IMO, always look forward to his work.
