Found it!
I just remembered something else
Not only was this coming off the heels of The Prequel a few years before but him and Red had just had that God awful sitcom on Fox not too long before this album dropped and I remember Meth was mad about how the show turned out and was being perceived
I hadn’t thought about this time in a while but I remember it was during this time that he had a lot going on
LOL. You just jumping from one thing to the next with zero evidence and just speculation. Like I said, Ross and Jeezy got the proper promo. Luda's album got the proper promo around the same time as well. Luda's promo was so good, "Money Maker" was Billboard #1 for 2 weeks. Nas even got the proper promo with "Hip Hop Is Dead." You keep singling Meth as if Meth's promo was specifically drained because Jay came out of retirement and that's not a story anyone ever heard until you said it a few minutes ago in this thread and Meth never said no shyt like that so I'm not going to listen to your speculation. The reason why 421 never got the proper promo is a mystery.
I'm done with this back and forth. But you can have the final word.
Despite this being one of Meth's strongest solo efforts to date, the album failed to do well commercially due to it having no single or video, which Method Man has held discontent towards his own label for. However, he toured strongly all over the world to promote the album, and appeared onstage with fellow Wu-Tang member Inspectah Deck, as well as New York up and comers Saigon, and Gat Murdah. Meth cited various reasons for the problems between him and his label, Def Jam. While he puts most of the blame on personal agendas in the Def Jam offices, Meth did take some blame, himself, for giving in to his record label.
Cause he had that and then he had some DVD where he was interviewing strippers lol
part of all he's covering in "Say"
speaking of, this album had some of the better Erick Sermon beats in a minute as well as his style had gotten pretty stale for a while
