Went to bed early yesterday but I see that my input wasn't needed

Also, safety nets are socialist implementations and not an extension of capitalism so I don't know why you think using another term somehow supports your argument.

U agree with everything in here... but u are going to "expose" people in here who disagree with you.....

Scandinavian countries are capitalist... with safety nets that eat into a capitalists profits

And usually when facts show up.... u are the one that looks like an idiot
:why: Who disagree with me that they are capitalist, yes. Not sure what you are saying. No one in this thread has stated that they weren't and I haven't disagreed with anything posted in here, what are you talking about?

What are we disagreeing on exactly... everyone has supported my claim that they are in fact capitalist...

So chill w/the Vince McMahon strutting... and trying to have it both ways with pretty much every point you make. One sentence youre a libertarian, next youre a capitalist, next youre for safety nets.... commit to something

The introduction of new information is constantly changing my positions and views :manny: and I appreciate when you guys genuinely drop knowledge.

What is capitalist about having a natural monopoly on the largest markets in the country, nationalizing the economic distribution by having a high tax rate, regulating all financial institutions to a threshold that is incomparable to any so-called capitalist country, hindering foreign entities to circumvent minimum wage laws or to have tax havens, abolishing any financial instruments based on derivatives, and having labor protective laws that hinder free movement of labor?

No, we haven't. They have some capitalist elements, but they pay significantly more taxes than we do, and have a much bigger social net- two things that fly in the face of a capitalist system (which calls for govt to be as small as possible to maximize private opportunity and profit). They also don't let big business run amok- look up the Icelandic banker prosecutions. The whole premise of your argument is flawed... Scandinavian countries have a much more socialist bend to how they manage their economies, and its those social programs that are responsible for much of their advantages over us.

Are you suggesting that these nations are not some of the most economically free states in the world?:dwillhuh:

I think we may be defining 'socialism' differently...
Let me ask you directly, do you believe these countries to be "socialist"? :dwillhuh:

If you are just saying they are more socialist than America, I agree.

Moreover, I despise the comparisons made between us and them, because IMO a homogeneous population more closely resembles an "insurable risk" (e.g., class probability) than a heterogeneous population... meaning, the sh*t won't work here.
But again, that's my opinion.

I'm out here in Canada occasionally contemplating emigrating to one of those Scandinavian countries. Even more so as I read about the slaughter of blacks down in the US.
shyt, if I was American I'd be on the next flight to Denmark flushing our passports down the airplane toilet :flabbynblessed:. Couldn't imagine trying to raise a family down there.
