..[Insert unstoppable RB here]
LSU’s second-year RB Leonard Fournette is good. He is very good.

Fournette set a freshman school record by rushing for 1,034 yards in 13 games while only starting in 6 of them. In just his second year, he is a top 8 favorite to win the Heisman. ESPN’s Joe Schad, present alongside Fournette at SEC media days, praised the young tailback.

“He’s probably the biggest star that we saw all week. He’s another Adrian Peterson.”

With such potential and acclaim, an NFL career is all but guaranteed ahead of him. Also, with discussions of changing the NFL’s eligibility rule to let players declare for the draft after only two years in college, it is possible we may see him play pro very soon.

Except Fournette doesn’t want to go pro…not just yet.

Fournette is a rare breed. He is 6’1’’, 230lbs, he can run over you and around you, and has the work ethic to refine his craft. Perhaps more importantly, he is humble. He recognizes the tremendous talent around him and gives credit to others, even when he is in the spotlight. During SEC media days interview, he brought up his friend and competitor, Georgia running back Nick Chubb. Fournette called Nick a “great guy” and lauded his abilities.

“I think he is hands-down the best running back in the SEC,” Fournette said. “I’m competing against him every day.”

Fournette is an unlikely combination of ability and humility. In an age where mentions, likes, tags, and retweets can easily inflate an ego, Fournette continues to defy the odds. Did I mention he’s a stellar student as well? Unlike the in NBA, Fournette seems motivated to stay for a few more years at LSU and build a legacy for himself and his program.

We've seen a lot of RB with hype only to have mediocre careers in the NFL.

Rashaan Salaam
Ki-Jana Carter
Ron Dayne
Trent Richardson
Darren McFadden
TJ Duckett

He looks like a great college football RB now.
Let's see how the season plays out.

He'd be a monster behind the Great Wall of Dallas.

Then again we bout to fukk around and produce 4 1k yard backs this season.

Before week 6

Fair enough, he's got a good head on his shoulders and is getting his degree in Sports Administration. That LSU program is top 25 in the nation. Most end up becoming:
  • Coaches and Scouts – $28,360, 15% projected growth rate through 2022
  • Sports Agents – $63,370, 12% projected growth
  • Sports Promoters – $88,590, 12% projected growth
  • Athletic Director, Higher Education – $99,585, 15% projected growth
  • Sports Marketing Manager – $119,480, 13% projected growth
Either way NFL standout or not he is not in bad company. I'm not gonna be the one shytting on him, and then eating my words later. I'll leave that to the doubters.
