Shakir Stewart was a kid from East Oakland, CA who ended up running the biggest music label in the world, Def Jam. His story is one that only a few people know, but his contribution to Hip Hop and R&B is still seen today as being one of the biggest to the culture. Responsible for introducing JayZ to Beyonce' and finding acts such as Beyonce', Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Ciara, and many more... Shakir had a keen sense of finding talent and making them into superstars. But suddenly in 2008, he was mysteriously found dead in his Atlanta home. Investigators ruled it as a suicide but industry insiders and close friends and family believe that there was foul-play involved in his death.
