How good are you at negotiating? I think I am a good face-to-face negotiator due to fact I am able to read body language and make eye contact but more and more I find im negotiating via email plus going back and forth nickel and dime-ing with a$$holes behind a computer. This shyt gets tiring and its for the birds with all the trade-offs and counter-offers in which 50% of negotiations fail. How I counter-act this in the past has been to get on the phone with nikkas and persuade them verbally and hold them accountable to their words or promises.

Like for instance im negotiating with this person, an ex colleague but they nickle and dimeing over $100...I swear I hate dealing with West Indians and money. I know they got the money, we both know they got the money, the industry they in has bookoo dollars and the project is funded very well, they just want to be able to say they saved $10k by trying to low ball me. They came to me with the project, we were colleagues in past, they asked me to customize the quote per job and not per hour, they could always go to a OEM to get the work done but will get raped with the OEM' s per hour rates. Im on some fukk you pay me type attitude right about now. I made my case for the quote I proposed and hopefully they will accept it or kick rocks.

This. I'm like if they took the time to put the price tag on it, they must know what they're doing.

Then I found at about profit margins :mjcry:

It starts out simple depending on the type of owner of the store just be like no tax str8 cash and theyll usually knock off the tax. Once u get a feel for it, itll come easy.

I do best face to face. Especially with small business owners trying to mark up prices. If I know its too high I'll let em know and talk em down. If they refuse I make it clear that I'm taking my business elsewhere.
