Once journalists got the greenlight to report on the allegations against such a rich powerful guy.....then EVERYBODY could get it after that.

Reporters and editors probably heard allegations for years, but were afraid of the damage to their careers if they wrote about it. Once the accusers publicly stepped up,,,it all changed.
The stories that flooded media platforms afterward weren't new stories. They'd already been investigated, but with so many outlets airing people out.individual journalists weren't scared to publish those stories.

The R. Kelly doc. was probably sitting on the shelf half done two years ago but in this climate...there is a market for it, so they probably shot new footage, interviewed more people and put it out.

Yeah, and #metoo took down the CEO of CBS and Congress men. Along with douches like Matt Lauer and Kevin Spacey.

If he ever was? are you smacked? It was less than 18 months ago. His big ugly face dominated the media for a good 5 months until they started to turn on others.

You can say he isn't the face of it anymore, but fukking Les Moonves lost his job at CBS because of this. Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey both lost their careers. And many other rich powerful men.

Pretending that Weinstein's behavior which created this movement is not a big deal is the most simple simon shyt I've heard.

Weinstein criminal case in NY is going on. I think these men being brought to trial is what me-too should have always been about.
More than shaming brutish behavior or people losing jobs or careers, but criminal cases being brought.

Weinstein's money and influence shielded him being charged in the past, but with the world paying attention now he can't call in anymore favors.
