There’s been a couple of Korean actors/singers that have committed suicide over the years. Their entire entertainment industry needs a massive overhaul.

The Traps of Unified Korea

Facts. But we legit have a situation in this country where it's regular for recording artists to be shot and killed and we treat it like some normal shyt :mjlol:

Korea has a cultural bullying problem that manifests itself through every aspect of their society, just like the US and our gun problems.

Same thing as over here honestly. Entertainment is a dark, vindictive, predatory, exploitive industry that you’ve got to have a strong mind and sense of purpose to both flourish and keep your sanity.

Calling out South Korea many of our own biggest stars in the US have committed suicide is the pot meeting the muthafukking kettle

While true, I feel people are somewhat shocked because not many are aware of the issues in Korea. People aren't aware of how crazy fans are in the entertainment industry is there or how crazy their right-wing PM is. Plus, the bullying issue is crazy there and it seems to be engraved in their society .

I think it all boils down to many don't view Korea as having issues stated in this thread.

Calling shyt demonic is just such a lazy criticism in this day. They have a lot of social pressure and it fukks with them and the country had been famous for decades for high suicide rates in the world. That's their culture. Public pressure for perfection and the mental toil it has. Most of their artists come out of camps that make them, look sound and everything. They are products, the starts often have no autonomy or leverage over the industry like some do here. They have one of the highest rates of plastic surgery in the world. You can observe all this in western societies but not as extremely encapsulated as it is in their culture. The demons they are dealing with are capitalists. Not evil entities.

The korean mafia run the whole entertainment industry with a iron fist. They treat the stars like zoo animals. They don’t have a second of freedom. There was big expose on it last year.

Glad I got out of kpop. Jonghyun, Hara, and Sulli were very stressful losses.

K-Pop left J-Pop in the dust years ago. They are clearly the kings of the genre, but with all of the pressures and problems that it brings, they can hold that crown. I wouldn't want that if I were J-Pop or C-Pop.
