Ladies and fellas, how do ya'll split up the responsibilities in your relationship? Is it 50/50? Something different? Did you guys sit down and plan it out or did it evolve naturally?

My relationship looks like this. We didn't plan anything out, but this is sort of how the responsibilities organically fall.

My responsibilities:
  • 95% of the cooking
  • 75% of the bills
  • 20% of the cleaning
  • 5% of the laundry

Her responsibilities:
  • 95% of the laundry
  • 80% of the cleaning
  • 25% of the bills
  • 5% of the cooking

Other pieces of info:
We have no children and aren't married.
I earn probably 2.5x as much as she does.
I love to cook; it doesn't feel like a responsibility for me.
She loves to clean; it doesn't feel like a responsibility for her.
The house is solely in my name, so she earns no equity from her part of the mortgage payment.

No maid, chef, nanny or grounds keepers.. is this some kind of phase you're going through to try and "find" yourself breh? or are you really out here not being able to afford basic necessities :picard:

Having your woman touch cleaning supplies, let alone clean :picard:

t-dot till they bury me
I own 100% of the following:
  • Household finances (managing bill payments, budgets, big purchases like vacation spots, etc) Wifey probably doesn't even know what are utilities companies names are :heh::lupe:
  • Outdoor maintenance (lawn, sprinklers, roof, etc)
  • Home diy/upkeep/repairs

We split childcare, cooking, laundry, vacuuming 50% on average

I don't clean bathrooms...that's her domain :birdman:

CLOSE TO MY SITUATION. I PAY FOR BILLS AND ORGANIZE FINANCES. SHE DOES HOUSEHOLD STUFF. THAT'S ABOUT TO CHANGE THOUGH.

SHE KEEPS ASKING ME TO HELP OUT AROUND THE HOUSE. I TOLD HER IF I PICK UP A BROOM, WE GOING 50/50.

She wants to get a maid and she even offered to pay for it but I hate having service people in my house.
