@daemonova I guess you could say, we are the 1st brains on the grid.... :troll:

Anyways, I can def see why this movie rubs a lot of folks the wrong way or may be considered a hard watch by some. The setup is kind of tedious, free flowing tech/govt/regulation jargon convo with little exposition that most are used to and ultimately characters who we don't know & are just thrown right into the retreat with them. As opposed to something like Succession, by the time we got to Boar on the Floor, we had lived with those mfs for awhile.

You got creh with cancer just casually plotting to catch a body without a 2nd thought. And then, my one guy, the lil Sam Altman stand in, lol, after what happens to him, don't even have a change of heart nothing but decides to play the game more ruthless :russ:

Like, this ain't Black Mirror ish by any means tryna warn us about subscriptions & shyt lol. It's just a full on satire about how power works, what it looks like, etc.

So, I could see how it could be jarring for some. Shyt, at one point, I was thinking of cutting it off. It found its stride eventually tho. Maybe could've worked better as a limited series or maybe even a few extra minutes tacked on but I'm not mad at it overall.
Yea, I ended up not really liking the film due to none of the characters being likable and without any experience of them in any other context, I just couldn’t overcome how shytty they were. The dialogue pacing and cinematography were a little too on the Succession nose as well, to the point where there were times I just thought about running Succession back

Over the years, I've realized films that take place in 1 place can feel stagnant as a viewer. This is a prime example on the differences between movie story building and series story building.

The amount of dialog and discussions for this movie was a lot to sit through, and the payoff was an anticlimactic dumbass homicide attempt. Just didn't land for me, and at the end of it I felt this was overall a lost opportunity.

It's a very real and relevant topic that felt half baked and rushed after watching it

Bro pitched the script in Dec
Wrote the script in Jan
Got the cast secured + location
Filmed and edited in 5 weeks then aired

I think that all of that shows in this movie for better or for worse. It doesn't sound like their was too much time for any rewrites, reshoots, tone changes or none of that.

And the excuse was, "we need to get it out b/c it's a subject/life matter that evolves almost everyday now and I believe the content is needed right this very second", to paraphrase. And he's not wrong because the commentary & lens put on the subject matter is very much relevant, but, we're also probably not gon' get as much as narrative depth as one could get that would lead to a better payoff.

Joints filmed in 1 setting def are few & far between as far as there being a bunch of great ones. I will say tho, this still isn't the worst I've ever seen but cuh def missed a chance to go bigger wit it.

I think this film will be a building block to a larger project that actually really goes deeper in what this was trying to convey.

The AI Revolution is most definitely going to be disruptive and in some areas very problematic for society. If his goal was to really get the attention of lobbyist/lawmakers on the ill effects on what this technology CAN impact moving forward, he just didn't go hard enough. The darkness that was happening was going on in the background intentionally, we'll all be watching the world burn through our phone screens, I get it.

This just felt like a teaser to someone coming along and really executing every thing better and the response being much louder as well.
