this was the only offseason we had to spend money and he was the best viable option that adds exactly what we needed

hes also still very young and it pretty much assures Zach staying long term now

I dont know what you wanted them to do instead?

nobody is acting like Zo is a star or will elevate us to contenders

he got paid what he is worth now in the NBA, look at contracts around the league

I'd prefer signing Zo to a shorter term deal if anything.

I seriously doubt Zach is staying because of Zo in particular, he's staying because we can offer him the most money and I believe (hope) we are willing to provide it to him. Zo isn't moving the needle for Zach.

Vucci is an expiring contract following next season. Sign Zo to a 2 year deal and the books are wide open sooner than later if this team underachieves, which is a huge possibility.

And all of those players were considered better players than Lonzo before they stepped foot in the All-Star game. Every single one. The only debatable one was Randle but he was better than Lonzo when they played together in LA.
So, if the only all stars making 20M are those that are considered underpaid, how is 20M all-star money?

improving the roster was/is a big factor in Zach wanting to stay here, hes said that many times

Again those players were better than Lonzo BEFORE they were even all-stars. They were all potential All-Star players and projected as such when those deals were paid out.

Not only does no one really see Lonzo as a potential All-Star player except this thread, but there's legit guys that are potentially available that really are projected All-Stars. Like a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Fair, and I acknowledge that getting him is not so much the problem, however I feel like a 4 year commitment is too much. He still is very much a question mark in the league. A player with an injury history, unclear if he really is a 37% 3pt shooter, unclear if he really is an improved free throw shooter, unclear if his shot selection will ever improve, unclear if he will ever be the aggressive player Lakers and Pels fans have been begging him to be.

I don’t think Shai is available like that and if he was we wouldn’t have the assets to get him

At the end of the day we all on the same side and I hope Zo works out and becomes an All-Star level player. I just feel like there's a lot of overrating going on, we'll see tho.

Still need to sure up the front court quite a bit.

As of now who's starting at the 4?
