Caruso is a legit role player who plays within his role.
He can't dribble for shyt but a very good defender, did improve on 3s and will give you hustle plays. Plus you might get a dunk from him here and there, he will be a crowd favorite right away. He's a very good pickup by you guys but just know he's not more than this good role player where fans might get upset if he struggles offensively time to time.

I think we’re happy to get a young guy who fits our needs perfectly and helps secure Zach longterm
The thing I feel like you’re missing is that this was the only offseason we had to make significant moves and Lonzo was the best, viable option on the market
The cost is the cost, it really doesn’t matter if you feel like he was overpaid by a few mil a season, that money wasn’t going to net us anything longterm because we are capping ourselves out this offseason before that space goes away next offseason when Zach gets his max
I don’t think Bulls fans here expect Zo to take a significant leap but he’s proven that he’s a starting caliber player
Personally I don’t think he has much more of a ceiling but if he can play make and facilitate to Zach, Vuce and Pat without slowing the offense while hitting the open 3 and playing high level defense I think this move makes a lot of sense
We can’t just keep toiling as a 10 seed picking up the 7th pick every draft. I like the idea of significantly improving the team with additions like Vuce and Zo and building this team on the fly while winning some games
We have gained some serious respectability around the league in short order and it will pay off long term. A year and a half ago we were viewed as a laughing stock of the league with Boylen & Garpax. AK and Mark have already reshaped our image in literally one year, that deserves some kudos even if you don’t fully agree with the moves
I’m happy we are trying something new finally and have a team people are taking notice of heading into this upcoming season

I dont really know how to feel about the Caruso deal. I like the 3 and d potential of it. Don't know about that price tag though.
A name that keeps popping in my head if we don't get derozan is montrez Harrell. I remember rumors of getting him was mentioned earlier in the year. I think if AK doesn't get derozan lauri goes for another front court piece.

We have been trotting out fringe NBA level players for years now as our bench/depth and it sucks the life out of this team

You trolling with Harrell? Nah son. I don't know who either but not him and if I'm wrong I'll be wrong.
He's a decent regular season player. It's the playoffs where his poor PnR coverage hurts the team. I'm also not sure if I want to trot out a non-3 point threat since it seems that we're looking to make 1-5 be 3 point threats.
For that very reason is why I'm a little apprehensive about DeRozan, but I admit I haven't seen much of him in a Spurs jersey.
Fair enough. We will see how it pans out.

The money drying up fast. Lauri won't have any team that can offer him anything soon. Got to be something in the works.
Spurs I think can still make a sizable offer to him and they have been the team most closely attached to him heading into FA
I wonder if they are playing the waiting game to lessen our ability to get anything back in a sign/trade? Then again I don’t think they have interest in bringing back Derozan and he wants out anyways
