Most Annoying Jay Z (aka GOAT) Stan of All Time
The GOAT's of the GOAT's got 3 levels of lyricism
Single/club level: Tends to be the most basic as it's more geared toward catchy bars that people will easily remember especially nowadays in this melodic, hookcentric/flowcentric era. Gems are dropped but it's more of the slick variety where you ain't gotta dig too much to uncover them, at least initially. MC will often purposefully dumb themselves down to focus on flow/delivery.
B-Side level: More complex, as there's less of a need to have the listener pick up everything on the first play or be able to easily recall and repeat the bars as they would with a banger, so the message can be delivered in a more intricate way. This where you usually see rappers going over 16 over bars due to the hook being of less importance than the verses, which can allow topics to be more fleshed out.
Gawd MC lyricism: That MJ in the Finals, Brady in the SB, Mayweather inna big fight type shyt where you just bow to their GOATness cuz they one of the few, if not the only one, that can rap on that level in the history of the genre
The GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd is the GOAT lyricist cuz he's mastered all 3 levels better than anyone in history. Not only can he easily rap at all 3 but he's acutely aware of when to rap at what level, and his latest GOATly return is a perfect ex.
ATWU: While a club single, he went crazy with the B-Side level lyricism that included both catchy slick talk & intricate raps that flew past listeners. Plus, he was smart enough to not try to get fancy on a tricky beat, but instead float with the flow & focus on spitting sick bars
DDA: Having fed the middle ground btwn club casual & backpack fanboy, the GOAT dropped a prime Hov level verse reeking of laundered bills, Cristal & coke residue. As I said when it dropped Hov was spittin like he in his prime & Push was spittin like he possessed by the spirit of prime Hov.
IGTK: Clearly club/single shyt. While still dope af, the GOAT clearly went for the more obvious bars & did what he did best with the slick talk while coming through with his strongest delivery in terms of the adlibs, flows, etc. & his presence was back on that super arrogant, unfukwitable shyt. The result is the banger of summer 16.
Spiritual: Still blown away by the raw introspection the GOAT showed, not to mention the versatility displayed in bodying that spoken word flow. B-Side level bars that left me wanting another verse especially since the 2nd so short.
That versatility, that ability to spit about almost any topic in a way that is strangely both relatable yet beyond our reach, is why the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd is the GOAT lyricist. Just like MJ, there are others that can do the shyt GOAT Hov does, but no one does EVERYTHING as well as GOAT Hov does and has done, and no one will ever come close to doing it so incredibly for so long.
Tldr: The GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd is the GOAT lyricist
