I listened to a snippet of Colin Cowherd's podcast after the OKC/DEN game and he made a point i agree with.
When you allow more physical defense... your legs are the first to go. And guess what happens with dead legs? Your 3point shooting plummets. You're then forced to adapt your game, and thus -for example- we saw OKC executing conventional 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 fast breaks with dunks, instead of guys fanning out to the 3 point line.
I don't know if this is what Silver had in mind when they said they would investigate the 3 point shooting, but that may be a solution to it. That is, if you're going to allow that type of physicality we saw last night and throughout the playoffs so far... then over 7 games it'll be a struggle for ppl to shoot and the teams that want to win will have to adapt.
