Let's talk basketball, what pieces are needed for the triangle to be successful that the Knicks lack?

The triangle just needs basic fundamental players who can shoot and pass. I'm when triangle fanatics call people like Shaq, Jordan,or Kobe "triangle players". People even call garbage like Artest a triangle player because he was awkwardly forced into it for a while.

Phil won with players who would be great in any system. Players you can feed the ball to and then spread the other players out with basic spacing so passes are available if the defense cheats too much.

The triangle is really more of an offense you would use if you didn't have one of those type of players.

Phil stays talking about the triangle because its his signature and his ego ia insatiable, and uninformed fans of the triangle think it's some magical path to victory.

I am not knocking him as a coach...but people assume Phil is this big X and O's guy.....

What will get the most mileage for the Knicks as it stands is if they can get enough productivity(not nececessarily points although it cant hurt) at the point guard to allow Melo to get most off his opportunities off-ball

LeBron don't give a fukk about the season until about mid February anyway; I would say that the emotion of getting their rings would guarantee victory but the Cavs lost LeBron's first game back... to the Knicks a couple of years ago, so them losing to the Knicks wouldnt surprise me here.
