Desire causes suffering, to be truly happy, u must resist desire, attachment to worldly things... Pocessions , people, labels, social status etc...these are things of the world. In order to be happy one must reach the path of enlightenment, detachment.
Detach yourself from this world and you'll become a god. Everything is spiritual, people have been tricked into believing that everything comes from that of man. But its WAY deeper, its spiritual. Man has no real control of this world, it all comes from the earth. U can can the biggest house, shiniest car, the most money, most expensive labels...but in the end, what is it? When u die, what did u really contribute to the world? what did u give back to the world?
Selfishness, desire, craving control causes pain and suffering. Systems are unnatural, in america people feel pain because they try to follow this make believe system. Humans weren't meant to live in systems. How are you suppose to be happy if you have to work all the time, pay bills for stuff u don't even need, trying to compete with the next person. Then on top of that you have to deal with the stress from relationships, the stress from keeping up some false image, false sense of social status. Why put all these unnecessary pressures on yourself?
Why not simply opt out of playing the game and living a life of simplicity ? that's the key to escaping the rat race of life. Stop caring, just accept what you're giving and live free. Why do u need a certain job ? car? clothes? certain type of partner? the answer is, u don't know who u are. U seek materials to put on a front and paint a picture of superiority, but ppl with higher knowledge see right trough it.
If u want to escape, cut your expenses, get rid of all your worldly items, find out what your true passion is...find love in things that cant be provided by that of man.
