That carrera is gonna hold its value much more...I just think its a better value and more practical car too.
I'd probably take a R8 over a 911 also

porsches do age well i admit but sl mercedes from the 90's still look clean

LMAOOOOOOO come on breh. You don't believe that. I've driven them both and on the street they are pretty damn similar. You won't get close their limits.

I have driven both also...911 is a much nicer ride I was at 1 point going to purchase the 911 last year after falling in love with the car. My boy gave me his r8 for a while to drive I posted it in the audi forum..the thing sucks..even he says he cannot drive it more than once a week because the ride quality.
A turbo 911 is night and day compared to a r8. Maybe when you factor in the new V10's that came out..but who is spending that much on a car?

Eh, 911 handling isn't all that great either due to the engine being mounted in the rear. I'd imagine the R8 probably actually handles better due to it being mid-engined, but this is all conjecture.

TBH the new cayman handles like a gem, but the 911 is still a sicker car.

I haven't driven a Porsche in... shyt... 18 years. Probably won't drive one again for another 20. Hope I can still enjoy one when I'm able to afford one.
