The truth about Marion Barry, and why TMZ ain't shyt

Most of you probably have no idea about anything Marion Barry has done outside of smoking crack.
But like Marion was a G, even more than even myself realized.

TMZ ran a story basically saying he was a crackhead.. thats it.
The the truth is, once black people got rights in the 60's (he marched with MLK)
He then got into politics and made the types of changes that black people in general were denied because of there color

One of his most famous accomplishments was setting up a program where all teens who lived in the city was provided with summer jobs if they wanted to work. (who does stuff like this today )
He put actual DC residents who just so happened to also be black into positions in the government that previously was reserved for nonblacks who didn't live in the areas they governed.

He was a politician who actually fought for the people. So its a shame that to many, he's only known of and thus remembered as a man who smoked crack.. the end.

Yea breh, I wish I read this yesterday, heard some lunchtime cac-talk at work where they were going at him being a junkie and corrupt...I wasn't in the conversation nor do I know enough about him to actually speak but I do appreciate the knowledge
