The biggest problem religion in Africa, is Islam which was not made for the Black person's psyche and natural disposition, but more suited to the nature of barbaric and savage Eurasians.

Obama and Clinton are the primary villains in this story. Obama helped remove the president who was responsible for almost dealing with the terror groups.
Even loaned out David Axelrod his former campaign manager to run Bhuri presidential run so they can have a yes man in office. Bhuri becomes president and the whole fight against the terror groups is ended allowing all those other groups to gain a foothold into the country. Also Clintons state department refusing to name Boko Haram as a terrorist group until the final days of Obama's presidency. Unless a group is labeled as a terrorist organization you can't just go out there and wipe them out because of International law.
The government was sanctioned by US and couldn't purchase advanced weapons in order to deal with the threat. They had to buy weapons on the Black market secretly.
Then you had the jets they couldn't use because they needed permission from the US. You buy jets for millions of dollars but you can't use them when you needed them without permission because they supposedly have "geographical restrictions".
You see a lot of developing nations with weak militarys and that's all by design mainly from the US.
Even in the Sahel those countries were weak because the US wouldn't sell them advanced weapons systems to fight off those ISIS off shoots.

The AU is a Western tool. EU funds them. It's gonna be interesting as to what happens since China is bringing in their tech and actually collaborating with African companies while America's influence is dying all over the continent after spending decades meddling with coups and starting civil wars.This is why a strong AU is needed. China doesn't trust America and the only way to have a back up plan if they get shut out of its economy is to help strengthen and stabilize African countries economies through investments and sharing technical know how so they can drastically reduce poverty and have new reliable trade partners.
