We only tell the truth here, so that means @Rekkapryde and @Fatboi1 cannot post here. If they do, i swear to gawd I'll take my ball and go home, probably bite a pillow or 2 :yeshrug:

There are too many misconceptions going round and what's clear is people can look up anything including post from YouTube, Twitter and other websites but those same people are oblivious to basic information. I'll address the topics as they come, we'll start with brotha @5n0man (5n0 never stuck out until now)

You made a claim about tempest working anywhere and Dolby needed special treatment that cost us the consumer hundreds of dollars but that's incorrect...
Dolby Atmos for Headphones

Hope today's lesson has been fruitful, now you're playing with power. Tbc...

Dolby Atmos for gaming: What is it and what games support it?

"There are essentially two different ways to run Atmos for gaming - that's either via a Dolby Atmos capable A/V receiver and speakers or by headphones. The latter is far easier to set up and get into, but doesn't offer the same level of experience as it's entirely virtual so perhaps not for the audiophiles amongst us."

" A good pair of stereo headphones or a standard gaming headset will do. That's because if Dolby Atmos is encoded into the games then the Dolby Access app applies the necessary technology to deliver the spatial audio and the Dolby Access experience. Then you just need to ensure you have the right games to play because both methods require a Dolby Atmos compatible game as there's no upscaling of sound like there is for HD/4K picture. So you'll need to ensure you have the right games before you think about diving in."

So you need the hardware, or software plus atmos compatible games.

A grand total of 13 xbox games are Atmos compatible, tempest being built into the ps5 means that all games for that system should have Atmos level sound quality.

You're comparing xbox one to ps5
On xbox, you can do that now. And you never mentioned windows sonic which is built into the system and is considered about equal to atmos. So that means it's superior to the ps4 and tbc what will happen next gen but i can guarantee you Microsoft isn't going to do nothing about it. Especially since Sony will be pushing that as a reason to get a playstation.

Neat. I was recently looking at spatial audio again recently. Atmos is really good for a software solution. I find it better than DTS. With Windows Sonic, ehh. I feel it compresses the range much more, and I just opt for basic Stereo if I can with a little fine tuning vs Sonic. Immerse claims tailored performance by taking a photo of your ear, but I've yet to try it.

Anyways, you'll need positional audio information to correctly use it. With mixing, 7.1 on Sonic was fairly flat as well. No real use outside of supported games like PUBG and Overwatch. :yeshrug:

I wonder if they've made a program to tune Windows Sonic...

Instead of posting marketing documents, how about you post your impressions on the difference it made to your $5 skull candy headphones before and after. :ohhh:
What games did this amazing software breathe life into.
You should make a thread on that, and the trolling, we don't do that in 2020 @Rain

This thread is to correct people with truth, that is all. 5n0man incorrectly thought to get Dolby atmos you needed Dolby headphones which is one reason why tempest audio was a better option in his opinion.. incorrect.

We're also diving into the topics nobody else is, xbox audio. Some people welcome these topics, on the Sony side they get angry and then try to silence you. Only white people be trying to silence black thought. Kindly now hop off these unless you got something to contribute to the topic

Honestly while that's news to me, i think you're wrong, and you must be talking about in the PC space which I'll look up or if you could provide a link?

I'll do the same, then we'll continue this :handshake:

That’s a lot of words to say you don’t have any real world experience and are just posting a company’s marketing docs to further your stannery. Carry on though.

The truth thread is all truth, and now it's clear to all that Dolby atmos works on any headset. This angle of things not being built into the hardware, superior/inferior technologies. I just want the truth to be understood. You clearly have issues with that but the truth is your frustrations come from home. You should focus your attention there :handshake:

I have a new topic to discuss, but I'll do it in my next post because this one has your germs in it

Why are you here? This topic isn't about games, it's about Dolby headphone compatibility. Im guessing you feel if the message is lost in your replies, then tempest audio will be special? I never understand the motivations but please, your family could use some quality time. Be more like bluey's dad instead of like lardass ok. You might wanna log off for a couple days :manny:

So, before moving on ti the next topic we have some clarification to establish. For @5n0man he raised valid questions about the future. But his knowledge of the present is flawed. I found something that should shed some light on what's to come...
Experience Your Games in Full Audio Immersion with Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos Spatial Sound - Xbox Wire
What is Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos?

Both Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos are technologies that enable spatial sound on your Xbox One and Windows 10 devices. They both provide support for immersive surround and elevation audio cues. Windows Sonic is Microsoft’s platform-level solution for spatial sound. As the platform evolves, it will support more endpoints and different technologies.
I understand if you'd rather have something more official, and Sony making claims is enough but hey, are we being truthful? I know i am :yeshrug:

Windows sonic is built into windows and there games you mentioned sound better because they natively supported 7.1. Any game that does the same should have similar results and the games that don't still sound much better in sonic than in stereo. So the no real use outside of two games makes no sense. Was you referring to Dolby atmos when you said that? As for a way to tune sonic's settings. You got me there, i looked longer than i cared to and couldn't find anything

I only listed two as an example ("like"). Sonic is more or less the same on PC and XBOX.

Spatial audio requires the use of positional audio information - namely for the yaw. So something object-based like games makes it easier ex. enemy is shooting ABOVE you. However, I believe this stuff has to get baked into the audio system to take advantage of spatial audio, requiring pos. information to be there. Because it is fairly newer, only more modern titles tend to use it, so the bulk of what we experience is still flat, horizontal based audio only (including 5.1/7.1 surround).

If I understand correctly, anyways.

Both sonic and atmos have to be coded into the game, not many games take advantage of that.
:snoop:

For PC you still need an app. For xbox you still need the right equipment because normal headphones aren't getting you the full experience.

I dont even understand what you're arguing now. You went from talking about tempest not being anything special, to comparing it top of the line audio quality.

:snoop:

Because you make entire threads posting a company’s advertising material instead of first hand impressions and before/after comparisons.

You love this app. It’s makes 7-11 earbuds sound like aTHX certified theater. I get it. Now what headphones did you use before and after the app? What games did you compare and what directional sound we’re you able to hear that you weren’t able to hear before the app? Don’t post me links to what some other guy experienced. Tell me what you found.
