The ULTIMATE Knicks thing to do is lose this series 4-3.

Not hating. I am ROOTING for these Knicks to take out these Celtics (full disclosure: I'm a Lakers fan, so FUKK The Celtics).

I want to see the Knicks win for three reasons

1. New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world with some of the most fanatic basketball fans in the world - the sport NEEDS a NY team to do well. It's great.
2. A loss for the Celtics would be hopefully the start of the sorely needed attitude adjustment of their star players.
3. Brunson is the most unlikely hero. And that's good for the game.

That said - here are some facts
  • The Knicks were down a double digit lead in every 4 games of this Series
  • The results of the last 10 years speak for themselves:
  • 2024: Lost in Eastern Conference Semifinals to Indiana Pacers (3–4)
  • 2023: Lost in Eastern Conference Semifinals to Miami Heat (2–4)
  • 2022: Did not qualify for playoffs
  • 2021: Lost in First Round to Atlanta Hawks (1–4)
  • 2015–2020: Did not qualify for playoffs
I wanted to keep it civil and only looked up the last 10 years.

I always say "New York deserves so much more than what these Knicks are doing.. it's embarrasing"
But this year... something is different. And I hope they shock the World not only by eliminating the Celtics, but by beating the Pacers... and maybe even more.

So you haven't lived through 10+ games where you felt like it was a lock and then it was NOT and now it was down to 1 game and suddenly nobody on the Knicks could buy a basket...?

Ok I guess it was just me.
:unimpressed:
With this iteration of a team? No. They fight and over perform always. If they lay an egg friday sure. But i don't expect that at all.

And this was before Mondays game

They better win game 6 , they’ve been down double digits every single game

I wouldn’t want to go 7 with a team you steady down 15-25 to
That's what I'm saying.

It's one part real grit to come back.

It's also true that:

-Game 1-2 with historically bad 3-point shooting from the Celtics
-In all the losses the Celtics hit serious, serious scoring droughts that was a lot of their own doing
-In the 2 wins by the Celtics the Knicks legit had NO chance.

Simply said:
If the Knicks start slow and get in foul trouble and can't stand the relentless heat that comes with a NY Knicks close out homegame and let Game 6 slip...
It's extremely likely that it's a wrap.
