As a piano player I agree! Also play the guitar a bit in 4th's tuning.



Piano and Guitar are the most popular instruments to play last time I checked.

But I think overall the interest in learning a instrument are down.


I think the bass and drums are the biggest elements in rap, soul, and r&b. Could have the greatest piano and guitar player but if that rhythm section is trash folks not going to want to listen to it imo. The chords and melodies can be super basic but if the drums and bass are nice folks will like it.

Instruments are expensive as fukk dawg thats probably one reason I was looking at calliopes (them instruments you hear at fares/carnivals. I always liked how those sounded) them thangs going for upwards of 10,000 like wtf, USED. Hell a a good bassoon will cost you about 4k, and thats cheaper compared to what the normally go for.

That's why it's a lot of keyboardists and guitarists can get a cheap ac guitar for like 30-50 bucks same for a keyboard. Also it's a lot of tutors and material out there teaching you how to play those instruments.

Yeah drums and bass are more important when it comes to rap, r&b, soul, funk, and gospel.

The Rhythm section is everything. That's the part people dance to stay on beat and the part rappers listen to to spit.

You can run bass on a keyboard. Also could load up drum samples but it's not the same.
