I have been unemployed 5 months and my severance money ran out and I don't even know how I'm going to pay my bills next month, cobra health insurance alone is almost 4k. My only source of income is my unemployment checks and I have no job prospects. I have no idea how I will get out of this, I need divine intervention.

Have you considered JD advantage roles? You don't necessarily have to be practicing law to use your law degree.

Most compliance departments at mid sized corporations and hospitals would love to have you as long as you're further along than 3rd year associate.


The worst case scenario is adjuncting.

Are you applying for jobs and changing up the way your resume is written? The resume seems to be one of the biggest factors for getting a interview vs not getting one.

You obviously know how to find a job so it’s really just a matter of diligence unfortunately at this point. You need to find gig work and use your vehicle however you can to earn income while you do a search, while you wait on your next gig. You very well will lose your health insurance but at the end of the day most people don’t even have it so that’s a significant portion of your expenses that will lengthen your ability to maintain each month.

It’s going to be tough and you have to grind and not give up because the only other choice is to lose everything, be homeless and indigent and that can’t be an option.

If this is his scenario, I would like into cultural properties like museums. I would also look into entertainment venues.

The HR/Legal teams are always hiring.

You'll get through this OP. Keep applying for everything you see in your role. Don't be afraid to travel. Take some consideration on what you're willing to do to keep your lights on while you're looking for a job in your field and stay away from construction sites.
